School Shadowing Program

School shadowing provides children with additional support within the classroom to help them adapt to school routines, learning expectations, and social interactions. Some children may experience challenges with attention, following instructions, managing behaviour, or engaging with peers in a structured school environment. Our school shadowing support helps children navigate these challenges while developing the skills needed to participate more independently in school.

During school shadowing sessions, trained therapists work alongside the child in the classroom setting, supporting learning, behaviour regulation, and social interaction in real-time. The goal is to gradually build the child’s confidence and independence so they can participate successfully in school routines, classroom activities, and peer interactions.

Our school shadowing approach focuses on collaboration with teachers and parents to ensure consistent support strategies that promote the child’s learning, development, and long-term independence in the school environment.

Classroom Learning Support

Our therapists support children during classroom activities to help them stay engaged and participate in learning tasks. Children are guided in following instructions, maintaining attention, completing assignments, and transitioning between classroom activities. This support helps children better adapt to the pace and expectations of the school environment.

Social Interaction & Independence

An important goal of school shadowing is to help children build confidence in social interactions and become more independent in school. Therapists guide children in developing peer interaction skills, understanding classroom expectations, and participating in group activities. Support is gradually reduced as the child becomes more comfortable and capable of navigating the school environment independently.
